Physician of the Year

Dr. Houston Braly was named Physician of the Year at Memorial Hermann's Orthopedic and Spine Hospital for 2018. This honor is awarded by the staff of the entire hospital and nominations take into account the physician’s leadership, character, expertise, and interpersonal communication.

Dr. Braly was chosen as the 2018 Houston Arthritis Foundation’s Medical Honoree. His team, “Braly’s Bad to the Bone Team”, raised over $12K. This was the 8th largest amount raised in United States that year!

For the love of dance

After returning home from a summer dance program in New York, 14-year-old Dani felt accomplished and ready to start eighth grade off on the right foot. The only thing slightly bothering her was a strained muscle in her hip, which she attributed to her summer dancing. However, after three months that strained muscle turned into a limp. It was then that Dani and her family knew the problem was something bigger.

After receiving a startling diagnosis, Dani was determined to do whatever was necessary to return to her passion - dancing.

Dr. Houston Braly with the Memorial Hermann Joint Center performs hip replacement on patient Kyle Martin McGowan who had battled Leukemia.

Kyle had been told by other doctors that due to his prior medical conditions, that hip replacement surgery would not be available to him. However, Dr. Houston Braly was able to replace his hip and allow him the ability to walk properly.

Simultaneous Bilateral Knee Replacements

When 73-year-old Ron Adams arrived for his two-week checkup after undergoing bilateral (double) knee replacement surgery, he walked into clinic without a walker, cane, or a limp.

Houston chronicle

Dr. Braly says he saw a unique opportunity to step in and take on complicated, high-risk cases involving major revisions, including fractures, and infections. Sometimes it means working at all hours of the day and night to care for patients.
